My Most Memorable Case-Kelcey Reed, Forensic Scientist, Phoenix Police Dept.

A young woman was murdered in 1991 at a bar in Phoenix, Arizona, with bite marks found on her body, leading to the arrest of Ray Krohn based on bite mark evidence.

Despite new DNA evidence emerging in 1996 that pointed to an unknown contributor, jurors remained convinced by the bite mark evidence, resulting in Krohn’s life sentence instead of death.

In 2002, DNA analysis linked the crime to a convicted child molester living near the bar, leading to Krohn’s exoneration and release from prison after serving over a decade.
