A 911 call from a woman in New Mexico seeking help for a teenager shot at a party ended tragically when the dispatcher allegedly hung up on her after telling her, “I’m not going to deal with this.”
The call was made in response to a drive-by shooting that left 17-year-old Jaden Chavez Silver critically injured; he later died despite the caller’s desperate attempts to keep him alive.
The dispatcher involved has been placed on administrative leave as the department investigates the incident, with officials confirming that units were en route to the scene before the call was disconnected.
