Cadaver is a Norwegian post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Jarand Herdal. The film is known for its eerie atmosphere and psychological horror elements, set in a dystopian world where survival has become a struggle.

The story takes place after a nuclear disaster has ravaged the world, leaving a small group of survivors to fend for themselves in a desolate, crumbling city. The main characters are Leonora (played by Gitte Witt), her husband Jacob (Thomas Gullestad), and their young daughter Alice (Tuva Olivia Remman). They are barely surviving, scavenging for food and shelter.

One day, the family is invited to a strange event hosted at a lavish hotel by a mysterious man named Mathias (Thorbjørn Harr). The event is promoted as a theatrical dinner, offering food and entertainment for the starving populace. Desperate for sustenance and a brief escape from their grim reality, the family decides to attend. Upon arrival, they and the other guests are given masks and are told they will be part of an interactive performance where they can roam the hotel while actors play out scenes around them.

However, things take a dark turn when guests start to disappear, and the lines between the performance and reality blur. Leonora begins to realize that the show may not be what it seems, and she must uncover the truth about the sinister happenings inside the hotel to save her family.

**Cadaver** explores themes of survival, morality, and the exploitation of the vulnerable in times of crisis. The film is visually striking, with the eerie setting of the hotel and the use of masks contributing to a surreal, claustrophobic atmosphere. While it received mixed reviews, with some praising its concept and visual style and others critiquing its pacing and predictability, it remains a unique entry in the genre for its blend of psychological horror and dystopian elements.
