Jeremie Frimpong, the star of Bayer Leverkusen, has been observed wearing an Arsenal shirt in the midst of numerous transfer speculations regarding potential interest in signing him this summer.
Last season, the Netherlands international exhibited exceptional performance for Leverkusen, which resulted in the team’s first-ever Bundesliga title and an undefeated season in Germany.
The 23-year-old Frimpong was a consistent provider of assists for Xabi Alonso’s team on the right-hand side, and he also contributed an extraordinary 14 goals in all competitions from a wing-back position.
It is unsurprising that Fabrizio Romano informed us that prominent clubs such as Arsenal have been monitoring Frimpong, and Sport Bild has recently reported that Liverpool is also interested in him.
However, Frimpong has now possibly hinted at his affiliation by being photographed in Arsenal’s new uniform for the 2024/25 season.
Of course, this could be entirely innocent, as Frimpong may have acquired this shirt as a memento during Leverkusen’s recent visit to north London to play Mikel Arteta’s team in the Emirates Cup.
Frimpong’s departure from Leverkusen this summer is uncertain, as the club is experiencing significant success under Alonso.
Of course, the opportunity to play in the Premier League and reside in London, as well as the prestige of Arsenal, would be difficult for any player to decline. However, there is a dearth of recent news regarding this matter, which suggests that it is not particularly imminent.
Liverpool have been linked more recently and may have a chance of luring Frimpong in, despite the fact that he obviously has a soft spot for Arsenal.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is currently the Reds’ primary right-back; however, he has been deployed in midfield intermittently and is in the final year of his contract, which may indicate that this will be his permanent position.
