BlackPink members Jennie and Rosé have recently become the targets of unfair online harassment.
The two singers were bombarded with obscene comments on X (formerly Twitter) through the hashtags “JennieChallenge” and “RoséChallenge.” These hashtags came after the “SugaChallenge,” which allegedly encouraged fans to drink in their cars, violating traffic laws. It was later rumored that the challenge was created by a BlackPink fan in an attempt to discredit BTS and SUGA fans. In response, a group of fan accounts created hashtags in honor of the BlackPink members.
As a result, extremely offensive posts about the two idols appeared on X. Rosé was accused of drug use after a photo was allegedly taken of her near a table containing illegal substances. These allegations, which surfaced last year, were quickly denied. YG Entertainment also announced legal action against those who spread these rumors.

Jennie, for her part, has been the target of sexual harassment by publications. Her hashtag is filled with edited photos that are meant to defame and attack her character. Many have even reposted private photos of the idol that were leaked last year after the cloud hack.
