Missing a Word on Stage, Selena Gomez Faces a Situation Due to Crying and Laughing at the Fundraising Night!

Selena Gomez made a slip during a speech at her 2nd annual Rare Impact Fund benefit in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

The 32-year-old Monte Carlo actress was on stage introducing a woman named Didi Hirsch as ‘Diddy,’ according to TMZ. The brunette immediately apologized to the audience saying ‘I am so sorry!’

Didi runs the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services (DHMS) to help prevent suicide among youths.

Diddy has been linked to Selena’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber as the two singers used to party together over 10 years ago when the rapper had his notorious parties.

Diddy is now sitting in jail after being arrested and charged for allegedly abusing and threatening people for sex trafficking.

Also at the event, Gomez was seen snuggling up to her current boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco.

The Disney Channel alum launched the non-profit in 2020 along with her Sephora makeup line Rare Beauty, which helped her reach billionaire status by 2024.

The goal of the Rare Impact Fund is to raise $100million to help improve young people’s access to mental health services and education globally.

For the annual fundraiser in LA, Gomez stepped on to the red carpet in a chic blue one-shoulder dress.

The fitted frock hugged the Emilia Perez star’s tiny waist and showed off her toned legs.

Her cropped brunette hair was styled in soft curls that framed her heart-shaped face.

The Who Said hitmaker rocked a sultry brown smokey eye paired with a matte nude lip and a youthful peach flush on the cheeks.

The 2nd annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit was confirmed in September with a press release promising a ‘star-studded evening’ with ‘live entertainment and special performances’ through the night.

Food and drinks are being served ahead of a live auction, with funds benefiting the non-profit’s global mission.

‘I am so excited to host the second annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit here in Los Angeles and to continue building on the success of last year’s inaugural event,’ Gomez said in a statement.

‘Mental health advocacy and furthering the Rare Impact Fund’s mission has become my life’s work and I couldn’t do this without the support of those around me.

‘A heartfelt thank you to incredible friends and sponsors who passionately support our work,’ she concluded.

According to the press release, the Rare Impact Fund ‘currently supports 26 youth mental health organizations across five continents, which includes organizations located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, broader Europe, India, Brazil, and Australia.’

Gomez has been candid about her own mental health struggles since being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018.

She was diagnosed at a treatment center, which she’d checked into after experiencing psychosis, manic episodes and depression while on her Revival tour.

‘I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t wanna go to the mental-health hospital,’ Gomez confessed in her acclaimed Apple TV+ doc Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me (2022).

‘I didn’t want to, but I didn’t want to be trapped in myself and my mind anymore. I thought my life was over; I thought, This is what my life’s going to be like forever.’

After being initially overprescribed medication, Gomez enlisted the help of a different psychiatrist, who helped her find the treatment that worked best for her.

Being able to get a handle on her own mental health and improve her life inspired Gomez to devote herself to mental health advocacy.

In honor of Mental Health Day earlier this month, Gomez teamed up with Sephora to donate proceeds from her Rare Beauty line to the Rare Impact Fund.

‘The mental health crisis continues to impact young people disproportionately and partners like Sephora are instrumental, not only by believing in this mission, but by contributing crucial funds to expand mental health resources for the young people who need them,’ Gomez said in a statement.

Rare Beauty already donates one percent of its sales directly, while the fund also raises money through support from individuals, corporate partners, its community, and other philanthropic organizations.

Latin songstress Karol G was also on hand for the festivities

It is believed Rare Beauty’s net sales in 2023 totaled at around $350 million.

Earlier this year, Gomez hosted a special event for her Rare Impact fund that ended up raising $7million for the cause.

Gomez was joined at Thursday’s benefit gala by a slew of close friends and stars.

She posed up with Elyse Cohen, who is the Vice President of Social Impact and Inclusion at Rare Beauty.

Latin songstress Karol G put on a show-stopping display upon her arrival in a leggy burgundy strapless gown. The fitted sequin frock highlighted the singer’s hourglass shape while showing off her legs through a daring thigh-slit.

Karol, 33, wore her bleach blonde hair sleek and straight for LA event. She and Gomez looked thrilled to be reunited as they put on an animated display for photographers.

Next to arrive was R&B singer Teddy Swims, who would be performing for attendees with Karol G.

The Georgia native, 32, was accompanied by his stunning girlfriend Raiche Wright, who he has been dating since March 2024.

Gomez’s event comes amid the hectic promotion for her new film Emilia Perez, for which her performance as earned Oscar buzz.

The Spanish-language French musical follows a drug lord (Karla Sofía Gascón) who changes his gender.

She recently told E! News that all this talk about her potentially being nominated for an Academy Award for her role as the drug lord’s crazed wife has given her anxiety.

‘I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I’m stressed—I’m already breaking out,’ noted the girlfriend of Benny Blanco.

This comes after she said her Emilia Perez co-stars helped her to feel ‘safe’ on set. In the film she has to dance wildly on a bed, threaten her dead drug kingpin’s husband ‘aunt’ and make out with her pimp.

She appeared alongside Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofia Gascon in the comedy-drama film, and Selena has admitted to developing a strong bond with her co-stars.

Asked if they formed a sisterhood during the shoot, Selena told ‘Extra’: ‘A thousand percent. These women are not only bold and strong, they are nurturing and they made me feel safe.

‘Even in the craziest scenes, I could feel okay knowing I could just lean on them if I needed … They’re really good, so I had to be just at good and try to get to their level.’
