Max Verstappen has finally addressed the rumors surrounding his potential move to Audi F1 after the team announced the completion of their 2025 driver line-up. Audi F1, set to undergo a major rebrand in 2026, confirmed that Valtteri Bottas would remain with the team for another season, alongside Nico Hulkenberg, who joined earlier this year.
Verstappen’s name had been frequently mentioned in the media as a possible future driver for Audi F1, with fans speculating about the Dutchman’s potential switch. However, Verstappen has put the rumors to rest.
Speaking to the press following the announcement, Verstappen stated:
“There’s always a lot of talk in F1 about driver moves, and my name being linked to Audi was just part of that. But I’m fully committed to Red Bull. I have no interest in switching teams, especially when we’re performing at such a high level.”
He went on to praise Audi’s growing ambitions in Formula 1:
“Audi coming into the sport is great for Formula 1. It’s always good to have new manufacturers, especially one with the legacy Audi has. But for me, my focus is entirely on winning more championships with Red Bull. I’m happy where I am.”
With Bottas and Hulkenberg set for Audi F1’s 2025 line-up, Verstappen’s commitment to Red Bull remains firm as he continues to chase more titles. Audi’s rebranding and future in the sport are eagerly anticipated, but the reigning world champion made it clear that his loyalty lies elsewhere.
As Audi F1 gears up for the 2025 season, fans will watch closely to see how the team evolves, but for now, Verstappen has definitively closed the door on a move to Hinwil.
