The Egghead Island Arc of One Piece has been absolutely sensational in many ways, and it is safe to say that it has gone above and beyond what one would expect of a beginning arc of any saga of the story.
Usually, the beginning arcs of a saga are slower in comparison, and fans don’t have high expectations from them.
However, Egghead surpassed all expectations and delivered completely new levels of excitement and intensity, showing exhilarating action, tear-jerking character writing, and jaw-dropping lore reveals from the Void Century. A significant portion of the Egghead Island arc was tied to a mysterious individual from the Void Century named Joy Boy. Oda has now confirmed that he is the strongest character in the series.
The Strongest Characters Of One Piece Over The Years
The world of One Piece has introduced fans to quite a lot of powerful individuals. Right from the beginning of the series, some characters are highlighted as being the strongest. As things stand, many of the characters who were once described to be the strongest have already died, while others are past their primes. Of course, then there are also characters who fans know to be in their primes right now who are in contention for the title of the strongest as well.
Roger
The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, was the only man who completed the circumnavigation of the entire world and, at the same time, found the One Piece. Roger received all three of wealth, fame, and power, the last of which cannot be emphasized enough. Roger was the strongest of his time, and this is quite clear for the fans to see. Even the great Whitebeard draws comparison to Roger, and one of his biggest feats is matching the pirate Roger in battle. According to Kaido, Roger brought the whole world to heel using nothing but his Haki. Of course, fans even got to see a bit of his strength in the Oden flashback, and there, it was quite clear to see that he was overwhelmingly powerful and could even match Whitebeard while he was suffering from a deadly illness.
Whitebeard
Wielding the title of the World’s Strongest Man, Whitebeard was a ferocious pirate, and he could essentially destroy the entire world. On top of that, he also had devastatingly powerful Haki, and using all of his powers, he could match Roger in battle. He is one of the few individuals known to be strong enough to be able to do that, and that just goes to show how strong Whitebeard truly was. Even when he was suffering from an illness, he was strong enough to destroy Marineford, as fans saw in the Paramount War.
Garp
The Hero of the Navy, Garp is among the strongest in One Piece. Just like Roger, he did not have any Devil Fruit power, and his strength came solely from his Haki. Garp is a monster who was known to be strong enough to corner the Pirate King. Roger himself admitted that Garp and he had almost killed each other on many occasions, which just puts him on the same level as the Pirate King.
Fans recently got to see a glimpse of Garp In his old age, where he was almost able to defeat the entire Blackbeard Pirate Commanders group by himself. Of course, at this point, he is way past his prime, which only paints a picture of how strong this demon must have been in his prime years.
The Yonko
Of course, there are also the other Yonko in One Piece, who fans know to be very powerful. For instance, Kaido was the strongest creature, and many even called him the strongest pirate alive. He was an absolute menace and not easily taken down. Everything about him, from his Haki to his Devil Fruit, was overpowered. Big Mom, meanwhile, was comparable to Kaido in terms of strength, as a Yonko should be. There Is also Blackbeard, who’s known to hold two overpowered Devil Fruits, but his Haki capabilities remain unknown.
The Yonko are the most elite pirates on the seas! – Garp
Then, Luffy, who is the newest addition to the Yonko, possesses the Nika fruit, and on top of that, overpowered Haki. However, he is far from the strongest. There are also individuals, such as Shanks, who can be described as the strongest of this era. Shanks is at his peak at the moment, and much of that is derived from his overpowered Haki. His Haki might just be the strongest in One Piece at this point in time, but that certainly doesn’t mean that he was the strongest of all time, as there certainly appear to be individuals on a much higher level than him.
Joy Boy’s Superior Strength Was Shown In One Piece 1122
Joy Boy Has The Mightiest Haki in One Piece
In One Piece chapter 1122, fans got a glimpse of the character who can essentially be called the strongest in the entire series up until this point. This character is none other than Joy Boy. In One Piece chapter 1122, fans saw Emet utilizing Joy Boy’s Haki on Egghead. This Haki was incredibly powerful and just goes to show how strong Joy Boy must have been. Joy Boy had sealed his Haki inside of Emet, only to be used in time of need. Emet used this Haki to prevent Luffy and the Strawhats from dying. Once he utilized this Haki, the bolts were so strong that the vast majority of the Marines were completely knocked out, with only Vice Admirals and above being able to maintain consciousness. What was even more shocking was the fact that all the Elders present on the island were knocked out of their Yokai transformations. Even Saturn’s summoning was undone. This is a clear implication of the fact that Joy Boy’s Haki was so strong that it negated the Yokai powers and abilities, such as summoning.
I’ll seal my strongest Haki in you, Emet! – Joy Boy
The Elders were sent back to Marijoa, leaving only Saturn behind. If that wasn’t enough, then fans also know that Joy Boy’s Haki was able to split the skies all by itself. This is the first time in the series that a person’s Haki has split the skies alone. Usually, two Haki users need to clash in order for the skies to split. Based on Haki alone, Joy Boy possesses the greatest that fans have seen in One Piece. However, that isn’t even all of his strength.
Fans know that he was the user of the Nika fruit, just like Luffy, which means that on top of this, Joy Boy had Gear 5 to add to his powers. If there was ever any doubt, there shouldn’t be any after this chapter, that Joy Boy is unquestionably the strongest character that fans have seen in One Piece so far.
